Ordering

How to order

Prints should be ordered by specifying the number printed on the supplied proof (this will be in the form - 0123-img-01234). This is a unique reference to the image and the supplied prints will be matched to those settings.

An order should be specified as shown here (Sizes and paper/canvas types are shown on the price lists): -

Order example
Image Quantity Size Paper Canvas type (for borders see below)
0123-img-01234 3 A3+ Fine Art (see below)
0123-img-01235 2 12 x 16 Baryta (see below)
0123-img-01231 5 12 x 12 Canvas Gloss (see below)

The size ordered will be the nominal print size supplied +/- approx 3mm since these will normally be cut from roll paper/canvas after printing.

For canvas prints the border(s) are added to the print dimensions to arrive at the finished price, remember to add the appropriate size to the image to determine the final print price (2 x inner border + 2 x outer border) to each canvas dimension.

For prints on paper the borders are already included in the size ordered so the image will be reduced in size when printing to fit within the space left after adding the borders.

The following border types are possible: -

Full BleedThe image will go right up the edge of the print with no margin for mounting

Wrap (Mirror) - The canvas image is ‘mirrored’ from the wrap around the frame.

Wrap (Solid) - A solid edge colour from the canvas wrap around the frame.

Wrap (Stretch) - The canvas image at the edge of the frame is stretched around the edge.

Plain Border - The natural paper colour

Photo Mat - A single colour border similar to a tradional framing mat

Picture Borders

Canvas wraps are specified with an inner border, and an outer border. The inner border should be slightly wider than the depth of the canvas stretcher bar in use. So if for example you were using a 40mm deep stretcher bar, the inner border should be 45mm. The outer border goes around the back of the stretcher bar and is normally left plain. This outer border should be long enough to allow for stretching of the canvas, this outer border should be wider than the stretcher bar in use so if you were using 50mm wide stretcher bars the outer border would need to be 55mm in width.

When sizing an image for canvas wrapping the image should be sized to cover the whole of the stretcher frame, The total size of the print after borders have been added to all 4 sides determines the pricing for the finished print.

Mats are either a single (inner border) or double (inner + outer border), this border will look similar to a traditional mat used in framing. This mat should be specified in either a single width and colour, or, as an inner/outer width both having different sizes and colours. Note that photo mats may have the lower edge wider as with an actual mat.

Border types should be specified as shown in the table below (where a column is left blank it will be ignored): -

Border Inner Width Inner Colour Outer Width Outer Colour Bottom Edge

Photo Mat 30mm 280,57,45 50mm

Colour Picker

Where a border colour is specified do so using the REG, GREEN, BLUE values you would find in the colour picker of a program such as Photoshop or Affinity Photo or even a Windows/Mac painting program.

Here is an example of a colour selection dialogue box from Windows Paint, simply select the desired colour by clicking on colour patch. Then read the RED, GREEN and BLUE values from the area circled in red on the sample image.

NOTE: The colours must be specified in the order of RED, GREEN, BLUE or the result will not be what was intended.
